Stretch-marks Can Be Improved with Laser

There are therapies available, particularly with lasers, which can help to eliminate stretch marks, however, no treatment may make a stretch mark go completely back to looking like absolutely normal skin. We may eliminar estrias, reduce white marks, improve the texture and make them look much better, even in some instances so that you can’t see them very easily, but stretch marks are still a place where we reduce the problem but do not remove it. There are no ‘perfect’ treatments for stretch marks. Several treatment sessions are often required to obtain the perfect results.

Treatment of Red Stretch Marks
When the stretch marks are red, lasers can be highly effective at reducing the redness and preventing some of the irritation. I believe the pulsed-dye laser is the treatment of choice for this. Laser treatments work by minimizing the redness in the stretch-marks and by increasing some of the inflammation causing the stretch-marks initially. Lasers also stimulate collagen growth and remodeling, like some elastin remodeling that revitalises the look of the epidermis.

Laser for White Stretch-marks
The latest progress in the treatment method to eliminar estrias is fractional laser remedy. For stretch-marks that are white or if the texture and consistancy is more of an issue we have seen the greatest results using these lasers. We perform a number of treatments and can get between 30-50c improvement in the look of these stretch-marks. I haven’t done any studies looking extremely closely at the surface of the stretch marks, but we have had convincing models that works very well. Usually we’re getting great results with minimal downtime. There are some risks that some patients may not be responsive to the therapy of eliminar estrias, like some risk of post-inflammatory  in darker individuals that takes some time to disappear.
