How To Boost Your Metabolism

As you age, it gets more and more difficult to lose weight. With each year that goes by, it seems to get even more difficult. Why? It’s because the older a woman gets, her metabolism seems to slow more and more. Not being active and not eating an unhealthy diet also contributes to a sluggish metabolism.

But it is possible to boost your metabolism. Lifescript.offers six tips to help you speed up your metabolism without unhealthy diets or other drastic measures. Here are three of those tips:

1. Get enough sleep – Studies show that sleep and appetite are closely linked. Do you need to get more sleep? Do you require more than 9 hours of sleep a night to function? The average adult requires 7-8 hours a night, but only you really know how much sleep you require. If you aren’t getting enough sleep, you could be dealing with a sleep disorder or stress.

2. Rise earlier – By waking up earlier, you can allow yourself the time to fit in a morning workout routine and also eat breakfast, which is the most important meal of the day. You should not only skip breakfast, it should be the largest meal of the day.

3. Get active – It may take some commitment to be active every day, but cardiovascular exercise (even a brisk walk around the neighborhood) will help to boost your metabolism, and therefore help you lose weight.
