It's usual for a vagina to be wet but it is the colour and consistency of the discharge that you must keep a watch on. Any unexpected changes can be a sign of infection or something as little as hormone fluctuations. Either way, it is crucial to know what each color might mean and for your partner to know the same. Your other half can probably check you better than you can anyhow.
Prior to starting to inspect ensure you are aware about the menstruation cycle. If a girl is ovulating it will change the type of vaginal discharge. The same applies if she is a few days away from her period or if she just got off her period. During ovulation it is completely ordinary to have a thin and filmy clear discharge. It's the vagina’s way of giving the sperm a break by making it thin for it to get through to the cervix. Some women may even notice their juices get thicker during time of ovulation.
Days before or after women’s period can also look differentt. Some ladies may experience spotting or blood or a light brown discharge which indicates some old blood from the uterus lining. This is also fully standard. You may even find some discharge to be light pink which also suggests a little blood.
